Subject: crow with deformed bill

Hello Tweeters.

Since the subject came up again, I took this opportunity to prod myself into
scanning the new (and better) negatives of the photos I took a few months ago
of the crow with a deformed upper mandible that frequented the Mukilteo beach
this past winter. I have put them on my web space. It might even be the same
one Megan saw.

Those interested can view the images at:

The bird photos might take a while to load, especially if you have a slow
connection like I usually do! I left the files large enough to retain some
feather detail. There are four, one per page with a button at the bottom of each
page to scroll through the images. The crow had some sand on its beak. It
would pick up corn kernels by turning its head sideways and scooping up the seed.

Would be interested if this deformity is the same type others have seen.
