The featured bird is a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD.


Sightings for Thursday, April 15:

A female MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was at the Centennial Beach area of
Boundary Bay Regional Park, Delta. It was east of the gravel parking
lot, along the ring nature trail. Also here were 5 MARBLED GODWITS at
the pump house at the foot of 12th Avenue.

In Blaine, Washington, on the mudflats next to Marine Drive, were 100
BONAPARTE?S GULLS, while off the fishing pier at the end of Marine
Drive at the entrance to Drayton Harbour was one EARED GREBE.


Sightings for Wednesday, April 14:

Two BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were on the Tsawwassen Jetty, Delta,
along with a CASPIAN TERN. 1500 to 2000 BRANT were between the 2
jetties.


Sightings for Tuesday, April 13:

The hybrid TUFTED DUCK X GREATER SCAUP was again seen at
the Ambleside Park Lagoon in West Vancouver. Also here, on an island
in the lagoon, were a pair GREEN HERONS building a nest.

An arrival BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER was a Lighthouse Park
in West Vancouver.


Sightings for Monday, April 12:

An adult male TUFTED DUCK X GREATER SCAUP hybrid was seen at
the Ambleside Park lagoon in West Vancouver. Blackie Spit in Surrey
had a MARBLED GODWIT and a WESTERN MEADOWLARK.


Sightings for Sunday, April, 11:

After an intensive search, the BLACK-NECKED STILTS at Serpentine
Fen in Surrey were not relocated.

The 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS continued at the mouth of the Serpentine
River in Surrey, along with a WHIMBREL.

The first CASPIAN TERNS of the year were seen at Iona Island,
Richmond, and at the Tsawwassen ferry jetty, Delta.

Also at Iona were 2 CINNAMON TEAL in the sewage ponds, and a
male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD at the north outer pond.

Another 11 CINNAMON TEAL were at Serpentine Fen in Surrey.

A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was seen on the Vancouver Airport,
looking south from the parking area at the west end of Ferguson
Road on Sea Island, Richmond.


Sightings for Saturday, April 10:

Two BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen at Serpentine Fen in Surrey.
They were in the large pond near the north end of the area, visible
from the Serpentine River dyke trail.

Two EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL were seen at Elgin Heritage
Park, off Crescent Road in Surrey.

Pitt Meadows had 2 SANDHILL CRANES, 3 nesting pairs of OSPREYS,
and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS.


Sightings for Friday, April 9:

Three CINNAMON TEAL were in the northwest sewage pond at Iona
Island, Richmond, and a male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was
in the north outer pond.
