Best time for shorebirds?Hi...as registrar for the festival and a resident of Ocean Shores, I am out on the beach every day right now and also hitting all the locations on the west end of Grays Harbor (inner bay) where they like to congregate at high tide. The numbers are increasing little by little, but not anywhere their peak numbers.

As they say, "timing is everything" and we HOPE we get it right every year; that's why we hold the festival when we do, but we can't predict the main migration..

You might try calling the staff at Nisqually NWR; they also govern Grays Harbor NWR. 360-753-9467. Good luck.
