If people think we have too many geese:

One of the biggest reasons we have so many Canada Geese (of the abundant
larger race) is that people give them so much food in the form of tasty,
tender, green mowed and watered lawn grass near lakes. If we don't want so
many of these geese we should take away one of their favorite foods and turn
those lakeside lawn areas into tall grass and wildflower meadows, shrubby
areas and woods. In that way we would provide more habitat for the less
common and more diverse critters that need that habitat.
