This could be either one of these two birds Nancy, Spotted towhee or a Junco
trill; these two birds can be very similar to a chipping sparrow "rattle"

Hello Tweeters,

I have been hearing a high pitched rattle and I do not know the bird
calling. It is similar to a chipping sparrow but not as chippy. It is a
more ethereal rattle. Can anyone give me a clue who this bird is? I cannot
see the bird because he is in a distant yard. It is more musical than the
pine siskins shreeeee. This is the only sound that this particular bird
makes.
