This update is for April 27, 2004
CLIFF, NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED, TREE, VIOLET-GREEN and BARN SWALLOWS, four flocks of PEEPS and several SAVANNAH SPARROWS were seen at the Nanaimo River Estuary in south Nanaimo.
A PERIGRINE FALCON and MERLIN were seen just off the highway near the ESSO station at Nanoose.

Monday April 26:
EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen coming to a feeder along Sunderland Avenue in the Townsite area of Nanaimo.
Fourteen AMERICAN PIPITS were spotted at Quesnell Lake in Cedar.
One PURPLE MARTIN and 25 PEEPS were sighted at the Nanaimo River Estuary in south Nanaimo.
Four RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKERS were seen near the lake at Morrell Sanctuary in Nanaimo.

Sunday April 25:
TOWNSEND'S and BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS were among the 51 species seen
on the Sunday Bird Walk to Legacy Marsh in Upper Lantzville.
SAVANNAH SPARROWS were seen in the 200 block of Chestnut Street in Parksville.

Saturday April 24:
CHIPPING SPARROWS, PACIFIC-SLOPED FLYCATCHERS, an AMERICAN KESTRAL, two RED CROSSBILLS, a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER, a CASSIN'S VIREO and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS were seen at lot 89 at Rivers edge off Kaye Road in Parksville.
Four GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS were spotted along Rainbow Crescent in Long Lake Heights in Nanaimo.

Friday April 23:
A MOURNING DOVE was seen at the Jingle Pot R.V. Park in Nanaimo.

Wednesday April 21:
A BARRED OWL was seen at the Beaver Pond in Morrell Sanctuary in Nanaimo.
