Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 29. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 28 a probable RED-THROATED PIPIT was near Cape Blanco. A PLUMBEOUS
VIREO was reported April 28 at Fields. Two MANX SHEARWATERS were off Boiler
Bay April 28.

Heavy migrations during the week brought movements of WESTERN KINGBIRDS,
LAZULI BUNTINGS, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, WESTERN TANAGERS, BULLOCK?S
ORIOLES, and WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. On April 28 a SWAINSON?S THRUSH was at New
River, south of Bandon.

On April 24 single BLACK PHOEBES were at Tillamook and at the South Jetty of
the Columbia River.

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD visited a Gresham feeder April 24. The next day one
was at Larch mountain, east of Gresham. On April 19 a WHITE-TAILED KITE was
at Scoggins Valley Park, south of Forest Grove. Five ROSS?S GEESE and a
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON were at Baskett Slough NWR April 24. A SANDHILL
CRANE and a EURASIAN WIGEON were at Ankeny NWR April 26.

On April 24 a late ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was near Harrisburg. That day a WHITE
PELICAN was seen on Fern Ridge Reservoir. On April 28 a GRAY FLYCATCHER was
on Mt. Pisgah, near Eugene.

On April 25 a EURASIAN WIGEON was on Hatfield Lake near Bend. The day before
one was at Lower Klamath NWR. A male COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD was at Chiloquin
April 25. On April 21 two COMMON LOONS were on Six Mile Pond in the Catlow
Valley south of Frenchglen.
