I spent some time along Commencement Bay, watching two male PURPLE
MARTINS at the Dickman Mill site along Ruston Way in Tacoma and seeing
what other birds were hanging around. The highlight of the birding was a
single male HARLEQUIN DUCK mingling with a group of goldeneyes. Another
nice surprise was a fly-over by an OSPREY that left in the direction of
the mouth of the Puyallup River. This is the first time I have seen
either the an Osprey or a Harlequin along Ruston Way.

Happy birding!
