Yesterday morning there were several interesting birds at Ridgefield. A
Long-eared Owl was on the Kiwa Trail, a Bank Swallow was at the photo blind,
and an immature Black-crowned Night-Heron (along with three American
Bitterns) was along the canal at the southwest part of Rest Lake.

Photos of the owl and swallow can be seen at:

The owl was located shortly after beginning the Kiwa Trail in a clockwise
direction. As the trail follows the canal on your left, it makes a broad
sweeping right turn, straightens, and then turns left to cross the canal.
The bird was very high in a tree just to the left of the trail, most easily
spotted when directly underneath.
