Today I hiked up to Melakwa Lake with a few friends. This is accessed from the Denny Creek Trailhead (I-90 Exit 47). In the rocky cliffs above the upper part of the lake there were quite a few Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches. They were flying around in a couple flocks of 20-40 birds. There were probably over 100 total. There were also several Pikas in the area. Other birds seen on the hike included 2 American Dippers and 1 Varied Thrush.
