Was out on spenser island near everett on sunday and saw three, possibly four, EASTERN KINGBIRDS along the dike that runs north immediately across the bridge and in the area north of the game dept. signboard. Was pleasantly surprised to see the first one and it was soon joined by a second bird. Walking back out from the north end of the island ( none of the former loop trails are loops anymore due to october flood damage) I saw another individual in the tall spruces there. Soon after saw three more of them ( all in sight at once ) feeding from the alders and spruces along the slough.

The three birds "leapfrogged' each other as they fed from the treetops, all quite vocal . One landing close to another really set up a racket, but from my angle could'nt see if it was begging or if it was an immature bird (if so it was full grown ). The birds kept pace with me as I walked out to near where I first saw them, but no further.

On July 20 2001 also spotted an Eastern Kingbird out here, but on the south side of the island. It was aggressively chasing other birds so on territory ? On the breeding bird atlas there is a 'possible' dot for breeding out here. Anyone out there have more information?
