We had a great afternoon of birding on the July 31st Puffin Cruise to
Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge. Sightings were as follows:
Double-crested Cormorant, Pelagic Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Surf
Scoter, Harlequin Duck, Heerman's Gull, Mew Gull, Glaucous-winged Gull,
Pigeon Guillemot, Rhinoceros Auklet, Tufted Puffin (12+) Bald Eagle
(4-5).
If you're interested in a birding trip to Protection Island National
Wildlife Refuge, we have two Puffin Cruises coming up: August 7th and
14th. These cruises are in the evening from 6 pm until 9pm. Contact the
