What Nancy didn't elaborate on was this: the bird was close - under a 100
ft I estimate - the sun was behind us - the bird was very cooperative in
that it presented views from every possible angle - it ran, it flew, it
preened, it foraged & allowed lengthy study - I arrived late and still
managed to have 15 minutes scoping it. For me this is a birding experience
equal to the Ross's Gull at McNary Dam. Dang, is this is a great place to
live and be a birder, or what !
