Subject: Cell phone coverage while birding in WA

Hi all . . .

I'm about to switch wireless plans and am interested in getting the one that
will perform as well as possible while out in the field to be able to get
and give immediate reports of interesting sightings.

**** Please **** reply *only* to me directly and not to the list. I'll
compile a general synopsis for one tidy post to the list when responses have
run their course. I do not want this to be an active thread as it is only
loosely related to birding.

Of particular interest . . . in order of importance as far as I'm concerned
.. . .

1. Best coverage in rural areas -- obviously, available service is the
first hurdle to jump
2. Least expensive roaming charges (or least expensive plans with free
roaming)
3. No long distance charges (partly a function of roaming) which can be
prohibitive
4. Cool phones / Other features (such as web-access, e-mail)

How satisfied have you been with your wireless carrier in this regard?
Would you make the same decision again? Would you recommend the carrier and
plan to others?

Please be sure to identify your carrier and birding areas you've had good
luck/bad luck with coverage.

Thanks.
