Didn't see the bird at Dungeness, so I can't comment directly on it.

But.... GW Gulls that appear shockingly white this time of year are common,
and a telltale sign is the gray scaps they seem to retain (though I've seen one
or two even lacking this). An imm Glaucous Gull this time of year should be
all white if it's that bleached.

Some GWGUs can, gulp, show bicolored bills, especially now as they're headed
into 2nd winter. There is a difference in how GWGU and Glaucous bill's look
bicolored, but both can be bicolored, if that makes any sense.
