Tweeters, well it looks like Bill Shelmerdine posted for me already! I
can't believe I missed seeing him out there. Steve Nord and I also had the
gull at 9:00 AM. We left a bit later with Alan to check the Tokeland spots
and saw an alt-plumage BAR-TAILED GODWIT fly around with the 300+ other
godwits at the marina jetty. There was a lone LONG-BILLED CURLEW and 50
Whimbrel with some godwits at the Graveyard Spit. Also saw a few Purple
Martins at the marina and a COMMON TERN perched on the pilings for a nice
view. Two distant Great Egrets sat in a fir tree off behind the jetty area.

A stop at Bottle Beach about an hour past high tide yielded: 2 RUDDY
TURNSTONES, Semipalmated Plover, B/B Plover, Marbled Godwit, Whimbrel and
the usual peeps. Windy salt-spray conditions made for difficult viewing.

After learning from Steve that Bill S. had a Great Egret at Mud Bay we made
a quick stop and were rewarded with a nice view of this bird from the
bridge. This is the same area one was seen two years ago...so it may be the
same bird.
