Kelly, and All,
The Egyptian Goose was first reported by Lew Maudsley. He took pictures the end of June, and asked BHAS for id help. I assumed, even though it was not banded, that it was an escaped/released bird. The info I read, though, indicates they are fairly tame, even if wild. However there is also a Black-bellied Whistling Duck, reported at approximately the same time, by Elaine Bickle. My guess was that someone was unloading extra birds...but who knows, given the influx of rarities. Perhaps I was too hasty in my assumptions. I can track down the specific reported dates, given a bit of time. But hopefully I am off to the Tri-cities tomorrow...
