Hi Tweets,

The BLACK-TAILED GULL was present this morning between 7 and 7:45 a.m. at
its usual location before it and many other gulls flew off for a brief time.
The birds presumably got spooked by an adult Bald Eagle in the area. By the
time I left, shortly before 8 a.m. there were several birders still looking
to re-locate it. Several of us did get good looks, however, as the bird
loafed and preened while present. I had arrived at 6:30 and did not spot
the bird 'til 7:00 (I think it had flew in without us detecting it as
opposed to it being present from the get-go). The crack of dawn didn't help
in this case, but getting there early, at least, may still be the safest
bet. What a marvelous bird!
