What can a ship at sea do about wayward birds that end up on the ship during
storms but won't depart after? My sister is head chef on an oil tanker that
runs between Pascagoula and Fort Lauderdale. During storms and bad weather,
sea birds (no ID, sorry) come to the ship for shelter or perhaps because
they have become disoriented. Despite efforts of the crew, they are unable
to save the birds who, in most cases end up dying on the ship. Can the crew
do anything at all to save these poor souls?
