The Para and McCain ponds outside of Othello were disappointing this morning considering some of the great birds that have been heading through the state. Ten species of shorebirds including five semipalmated sandpipers and one solitary sandpiper. Wilson's phalaropes are congregating and red-necked are now showing up. A single first year Franklin's gull was noted.
