Now that the peregrines seem to have moved on - thank goodness - there
seems to be a bit more life on the central pond:

5 spotted sandpipers (all juvs) - the highest number I have seen in the
area
1 dowitcher spp.
3 least sandpipers
1 semi-palmated sandpiper
3 blue-winged teal
6 green-winged teal

Out in Union Bay:

12+ wood ducks
lots of mallard including a late brood of well grown ducklings
1 american coot

Goldfinches are few in number now that the thistles have been mown and
I thought it was the blackberry that was the problem, sigh. After
seeing 70+ last week I had hopes that we could get back to the 2-300 I
used to see when I first arrived in Seattle.
