Ruth,
Hello. I just got back from visiting relatives up there. I wanted to report a few birds that may be noteworthy (I'm not sure). Feel free to forward to Tweeters.
Harlequin Ducks (1 male and 3 females) at ne tip of Case Inlet.
Red-necked Grebe in alternate plumage at Quartermaster Harbor
Barn Owl, Black-cr Night-Heron, and a family of Mountain Quail at Rocky Point, north end of Case Inlet (very near the Mason/Pierce county line).
Purple Martins at Titlow Park in Tacoma, Jarrell Cove on Harstine Is, and Fair Harbor Marina near Reach (Treasure) Is.
good birding,
Steve Hampton
