This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday,
August 17th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores in
Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Rare bird alert for BAR-TAILED GODWIT

Sightings for August 17th

At the foot of 104th, Boundary Bay was a BAR-TAILED GODWIT.

At the Tsawwassen ferry jetty were a FRANKLIN'S GULL, a WILLET, a WHIMBREL
and 3 MARBLED GODWITS.

Sightings for August 16th

At the Iona ponds were a STILT SANDPIPER, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER and a
PEREGRINE FALCON.

Another STILT SANDPIPER was near the mansion at Boundary Bay.

On Mount Seymour was a NORTHERN GOSHAWK.

Sightings for August 15th

A FRANKLIN'S GULL was at the Tsawwassen jetty as well as a WHIMBREL and 3
MARBLED GODWITS.

At the Iona lagoons were a SOLITARY SANDPIPER and 30 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS. At
the end of the jetty were 52 SURFBIRDS.

At Colony Farm in Port Coquitlam were 12 PURPLE MARTINS and 3 EASTERN
KINGBIRDS.
