Yes...it's interesting that even today...in 2004...they can still discover new species. This rail reminds me of another flightless
rail that was discovered only 24 years ago in 1980...the Okinawa Rail. I saw a pic of this new bird and it even looks similar. What
makes the Okinawa Rail an even more amazing discovery is the unimaginable pounding the island took during WWII. Two weeks of
saturation bombing and shelling, before 300,000 combatants went at it for three full months.
