Subject: Phalaropes in North King County

While moored to an instrument buoy near Richmond Beach (Point Wells, north
of Seattle) yesterday morning, a flock of about 50 red necked phalaropes
appeared out of the fog several times. It was a treat seeing much of
anything out there, visibility was down to perhaps 50 yards. Many were doing
the characteristic spin while foraging, and their call confirmed the ID.

At about 10am, four purple martins flew over Golden Gardens Park.
