Greetings All

Ventured around the Oly Pen in the rain yesterday. Oddly, my heaviest rain
was at that famed dry spot--- Sequim and nearby Port Angeles. Pt No Pt and Port
Townsend, dry as bones.

Anyway, highlights are as follows.

At the pond by the beach at the 3 Crabs Restaurant near Sequim at high tide
had a Stilt Sand, 2 Marbled Godwits, and a Black Brant. 350 DC Cormorants were
roosting nearby, and I tallied 7000+ Cal Gulls in the area, despite limited
visibility due to fog.

At Port Angeles Harbor, no sign of Mr Eider and no rarities, though 63
Harlequin Ducks seemed noteworthy.

At the Elwha River Mouth, 32 more Harleys and my first juv Mew Gull of the
fall.

At the head of Discovery Bay at low tide, a Franklin's Gull and 2 Baird's
Sands. By the way, why is the far end of a bay's mouth called it's head,
shouldn't it be....something else.

At Port Townsend, 170 Black Turnstones and 2 Surfbirds (same place they
gathered last year, near boat yards); no Stilt Sand but one extremely annoying
drunk at the lake.

At Pt No Pt, 900 Common Terns; amazingly, no jaegers there to harrass them.
Probably all in Skamania County!!!!
