On our coastal trip report, I failed to mention that
we saw a family of four SNOWY PLOVERs (2 adults, 2
juveniles) on Midway Beach. We saw the birds at dusk
(8:00 PM) on 8/15/04. The birds were on the upper
beach near the dunes rather than the waterline. As we
drove back out on the road, we flushed more Snowys in
the headlights.

As we pulled into the entrance of Two Harbors S.P., we
heard the loud squawk of a GREEN HERON a saw one
perched on a big snag on the left hand side of the
road. There were at least two birds in the area on the
16th.
