Hello Tweeters,

The Waggoner's (Ross, Dan, and Brad) were fortunate to be on the
Black-tailed Gull's viewing schedule last evening between 6:30 and 7:00
P.M.. Although we left a message on the birdbox, this was my first chance to
get at my computer to post to Tweeters. As this was my third attempt (16+
hrs.), it definitely can require some patience. Consider yourself lucky if
you have seen it on your first attempt!!

Today we birded in the same general area concentrating on some of the other
"good" birds that have been reported lately. We did not find any of them
(Stilt Sandpiper at Johns River, Bar-tailed Godwit at Tokeland, Northern
Parula at Bottle Beach, or the Black-tailed Gull). However, as Marv Breece
would say - it was a good day! Highlights included Peregrine Falcon chasing
shorebirds at Johns River, two adult Parasitic Jaegers flying close to shore
at Bottle Beach, and one Great Egret as we were crossing the Elk River
Bridge.

As a follow-up report to Steve Mlodinow's Franklin's Gull report Saturday at
Discovery Bay, my Brother Dan re-located it this afternoon in the same
location. I was also happy to find an immature (close to first winter
plumage) Franklin's Gull here on Bainbridge Island on Thursday evening.
There seems to be a few around.
