The mostly sunny sky now at Turning Basin #3 was unexpected, especially since the weather forecast was for it not to be, especially with the southerly breeze that's kicked up. Lots of MALLARDS along the edges of the south part of TB3, and back into the stormwater channel. Many of them were dozing, but some were taking advantage of the high water to browse on the blackberries that were now within reach.

A juvenile OSPREY landed on the Hamm Creek nest, and wasn't to be displaced by an adult bird that kept attempting to land. Eventually, another adult bird came through and chased the first adult out of the area to the north. Could be the first adult was an intruder? That's possible: later, an adult came through toward the Hamm Creek site, and an adult Osprey that was on the west power tower dove on that bird and forced it to move on.
