This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Rare Bird Alert for
Thusday,August 26th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with
stores in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Sightings for August 26th
In a field off Highway 17 near Deltaport Way were 2 juvenile RUFFS (1
male and 1 female).

On the 72nd Street Turf Farm were 2 juvenile BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS.

On the dyke just east of 104th a VESPER SPARROW was found with
SAVANNAH SPARROWS.

On the West side of Deer Lake a flock of 10 PURPLE MARTINS were
observed.

Sightings for August 25th

On the 72nd Street Turf Farm a juvenile BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was
found with KILLDEER.
Also present was an adult PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER and an adult male
LAPLAND LONGSPUR.

In a field off Highway 17 near Deltaport Way was a juvenile REEVE.

At the Mansion just east of the foot of 96th Street were 12 juvenile
STILT SANDPIPERS.

Sightings for August 24th

A juvenile BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was discovered on the Turf Farm at
72nd Street along with an adult PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER.
