Two MARBLED GODWITS were reported at the Yakima River Delta by Nancy
LaFramboise on August 23rd. The Godwits were relocated on the 24th, along
with 3 STILT SANDPIPERS. Four Marbled Godwits were found on August 26th at
the same location. If you are coming from Yakima and west, take Exit 3
(Queensgate) off I-182. Turn right at the end of the ramp and then left on
Columbia Drive/Columbia Park Drive. Drive to the 4 way stop and if you
cannot access the ramp toward Richland, keep going as far as Bateman
Island/Wye Neighborhood Park and access the dike road from there (west end
of Wye Park). Coming from Spokane etc - exit at Columbia Center Blvd off Rt
240, go north toward the river on Columbia Center Blvd to the end of the
road. Turn left and use the east entrance to the dike road as described
above. WA DeLorme 39, BC-6.

STILT SANDPIPERS were also found at the Grandview Sewage Treatment Plant in
Yakima County, WA. John Hebert and Richard Repp located three juv. birds
August 27th. Denny Grandstand also located three at the same location on
August 30th, along with Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Yellowlegs, Long-billed
Dowitcher, one juv. Short-billed Dowitcher, and Red-necked Phalaropes.

Migrating warblers are being reported from several locations throughout the
region: YELLOW WARBLER, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, TOWNSEND'S WARBLER,
NASHVILLE WARBLER, WILSON'S WARBLER, MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, and
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.
