Hi Tweeters,

Last night whilst walking the dog around the block we spotted what we
think were a pair of scrub jays - they were pretty close but without
binoculars we didn't get to see a lot of detail - we're thinking maybe
they were fledgling scrub jays - Their backs were a lighter rather than a
bright blue, and whitish/grayish breasts with no traces of necklace or
brownish patches as far as we could see. They were definitely not
Stellar's Jays - same size & shape but too light, no crest...I was
talking with someone who saw a bird of this exact description (who got a
better look than we did) two days ago who lives in Poulsbo - she had hers
in her yard and will try to get a photo. The birds we saw were among
scouler willow, rushes and cattails on an unimproved lot at the east end
of Driftwood Key's Hemlock Lane, which is down near the water off Bay St.

I hope someone else spots them too!

Sincerely,
Pam Parrish
