The featured bird is CATTLE EGRET.


Sightings for Tuesday, November 30th:

On Westham Island in Delta, a CATTLE EGRET was seen along
Tamboline Road in a field of sheep.

Nearby at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, the GYRFALCON was seen.
Also here were a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON, an AMERICAN
BITTERN, and a MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE.

In Surrey, a CATTLE EGRET was seen at 16948 66th Ave. which is
opposite the golf course. It has been present for 2 or 3 days.

At Brunswick Point in Delta, 5 SNOWY OWLS were present. Three
were seen across Canoe Pass from the parking lot, and 2 were on the
foreshore at the point.

At 34th St. and River Rd, a first year GLAUCOUS GULL was seen in a
field.

In Delta, the immature GYRFALCON was seen at the foot of 88th St. on
Boundary Bay. A SNOWY OWL was seen at the foot of 64th St.

In Surrey, an AMERICAN KESTREL was seen at 176th St. and 80th Ave.


Sightings for Monday, November 29th:

At Terra Nova in Richmond, 50 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in birches
along Lulu Island West Dyke, 100 yds south of the west end of
Westminster Hwy.

At Iona, 4 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen on the south jetty just past the
first shelter.


Sightings for Sunday, November 28th:

At Mount Seymour Park in North Vancouver, 6 PINE GROSBEAKS
were seen on the trail to Mt. Seymour, about 1.5 km from the parking
lot. Also, a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL was seen just past the top of the
ski lift on the trail to Mt. Seymour.

At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, 2 NORTHERN
PYGMY-OWLS were seen; one near the bridge and the other near the
feeders.

In Delta, a BOHEMIAN WAXWING was seen just west of the foot of
72nd St. on the Boundary Bay dyke. Also here were 3 SNOWY OWLS
and a BARN SWALLOW. The GYR FALCON was seen just west of the
foot of 88th St.

At Terra Nova in Richmond, a flock of 30-40 COMMON REDPOLLS was
seen along the dyke.

At Jericho Park in Vancouver, a SNOW BUNTING was seen near the
western edge of the lagoon.

In Vancouver's Stanley Park, 3 LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen at
the north side of the seawall just east of the Lion's Gate Bridge. 15
BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were seen just north of Second Beach pool.

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta were15 COMMON REDPOLLS, the
immature GOLDEN EAGLE, MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE, BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON, NORTHERN SHRIKE, GREAT HORNED OWL, and 4 SANDHILL CRANES.

At Brunswick Point in Delta, 3 SNOWY OWLS were seen from the parking
lot, looking across Canoe Pass. Also here were 2 SWAMP SPARROWS, 2
WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, 1 NORTHERN SHRIKE, 1 SHORT-EARED
OWL, and a GREAT HORNED OWL.


Sightings for Saturday, November 27th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, a PINE GROSBEAK was seen near
the viewing tower with AMERICAN ROBINS, feeding in a crabapple tree.

At Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam, a NORTHERN PYGMY-
OWL was seen on Oliver Road, which borders the park on the south.
It was seen 200 metres along the road up to Minnekhada Lodge.

In Surrey, the MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE was seen again at a feeder on the
northeast corner of 160th St. and 82nd Ave.

In Delta, at the foot of 72nd St. on Boundary Bay were 2 SNOWY OWLS
and 6 BARN SWALLOWS.


Sightings for Friday, November 26th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, the immature GOLDEN EAGLE was
seen. Also present were 4 SANDHILL CRANES, a BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON, a MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE, a CHESNUT-BACKED
CHICKADEE, a BARN SWALLOW, and a HAIRY WOODPECKER.
A SNOWY OWL was seen south of the sanctuary.

At Brunswick Point in Delta, 4 SNOWY OWLS were seen. Two were seen
from the parking lot looking across Canoe Pass to Westham Island, and
2 were on the foreshore seen from the dyke. Also, a SWAMP SPARROW
was here.

At the Westham Island Bridge, 8 MUTE SWANS were seen.

At Deltaport Way and 57B St. were 2 AMERICAN KESTRELS.

Still in Delta, the SNOWY OWL was seen on the Boundary Bay foreshore
at the foot of 72nd St.

In Surrey at 160th St. and 82nd Ave., a MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE was seen
coming to a feeder.


Sightings for Thursday, November 25th:

At the Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, the RUSTY
BLACKBIRD and NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL continue. Also here were
12 COMMON REDPOLLS.

At Brunswick Point were 4 SNOWY OWLS, 5 AMERICAN TREE
SPARROWS, 2 SWAMP SPARROWS, and a GREAT HORNED OWL.

At the foot of 72nd St. in Delta were a SNOWY OWL, a SHORT-EARED
OWL, and 7 BARN SWALLOWS.

At Lighthouse Marine Park in Point Roberts was a SNOW BUNTING, 30
BRANT, 4 MARBLED MURRELETS and 4 PIGEON GUILLEMOTS.

At Green Timbers in Surrey, a SNOWY OWL was seen flying over. At Bear
Creek Park in Surrey, a BARRED OWL was seen.


Sightings for Wednesday, November 24th:

At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, the NORTHERN
PYGMY-OWL was seen halfway between the nursery and the bridge.

At Brunswick Point in Delta were 3 SNOWY OWLS.
