Hello,

My husband and I went in search of the Curlew Sandpiper yesterday afternoon
on the Tommy Thompson Trail. We didn't refind the bird, but we confirmed
that the path, recently paved on the Weaverling Spit causeway that extends
far out into Fidalgo Bay, offers a great vantage point for viewing seawater

Our best sighting was of a male Long-tailed Duck actively feeding about 60
feet from the causeway. Other birds seen in the course of an hour's walk
(from 34th St. and back):
