Tweets,

Tuesday, Nov. 30 Dave Annonen and I birded Ocean Shores with a few stops en route. Highlights included:
> Sora (1) - seen at the south end of Lake Minard adjacent to the cement water reservoir on Marine View Drive near the base of Damon Point. Location: at the mouth of the largest "tunnel" coming out of the marshy vegetation to the water?s edge along the shoreline of the little cove in the near right-hand corner (just left of the sizable patch of bright green duckweed(?) that extends out from shore on the surface).
> Palm & Orange-cr Warblers (1 each) - behind McDonald?s in the Ocean Shores business district. Both were active and vocal. (Thanks to the person who posted this last week!)
> Rock Sandpiper (no less than 3) - Pt. Brown jetty. (All "rockpipers" were forced to the base of the jetty at high tide.)
> Pacific Loon - great view inside the marina
> Canvasback (up to 70) - Hoquiam STP (great view at extreme east end)
> Ruddy Duck (surprisingly large numbers--didn?t count) - Hoquiam STP
> Hooded Merganser (approx 30) - Lake Minard
> Great Egret - Oyut Wildlife Refuge/salicornia marsh behind Ocean Shores STP
> Trumpeter Swan (up to 60) - south of Hwy 6 just east of Satsop turnoff (as posted by Sullivans, but could not find a single Tundra)
> Snow Goose - two flying with Canadas over Dunlap Rd (off Hwy 12 eastbound approx 4 miles from Elma--last week there were 3 in a flying flock at the same location)
> Eurasian Wigeon - one male at Hoquiam STP; one male in Perkins Lake opposite where Fairwood Dr. "T"s into Marine View Drive in Ocean Shores
> Could not locate the Red-shouldered Hawk near the Hoquiam STP, but the mist/drizzle made conditions particularly difficult

Good birding!
