Unfortunately, the population of Monk Parakeets in Port Orchard may not be
all that permanent. The tower that they are nesting on is scheduled to be
torn down and replaced with an even larger tower. I am not sure when this
work will be done, but if it is done in winter, it is unlikely that the
birds will survive. It would be great PR for the company if they could
figure out a way to save the colony, but I don't think that is in their
plans right now.
