Subject: [Tweeters] Merlin on the Puyallup

I spent the afternoon at a Puyallup River bridge just north of the northern end of Kapowsin Lake. When I arrived at the bridge
I spotted a merlin perched on top of a short, spindly cottonwood growing up out of a gravel bar island between river
channels, upstream of the bridge. If I had to guess, I'd say it was the taiga subspecies.

Other species on the river included Bald Eagles, a Dipper, and a Belted Kingfisher.
