I thought some of you might be interested in that we have South Dakota
Bird Notes on-line. Please forgive me if you are offended by the
other offers contained within.



We are pleased to announce that the journal of the South Dakota
Ornithologists' Union is now on-line, complete from 1949-1999. The
journal is in the form of searchable Acrobat Reader files. The site
is located at:

A couple of folks have experienced problems uploading these relatively
large files. This may be the result of limited computer capabilities.
Be sure that you have Adobe 6.02 (and soon Adobe 7.0), a free
download from Adobe. Any and all input is welcome.

Those wishing to subscribe to the journal should contact me--dues are
only $16 a year. Birders interested in copies of our state bird book
should also drop me an e-mail--we are having a sale for $35, which
includes shipping.

Last, but not least, mark your calendars for the weekend of 20-22 MAY
2005 for the annual meeting of the SDOU in Vermillion, South Dakota.
Our keynote speaker will be H. Douglas Pratt, illustrator of the
National Geographic Guide and who is currently working on the upcoming
revision of the Peterson field guide. Doug will be bringing artwork
to the meeting. You do not have to be a member of SDOU to attend and
enjoy a weekend of birding and fellowship.
