The Peregrine Falcon that was at JBP yesterday is a juvenile. It is
presumably the same one that visited the park regularly for a month (first
seen October 10, and last documented sighting November 5), as the coloration
and markings (F.p. anatum) are the same and it's using the same perches (the
2 snags at the end of the west boardwalk). Most of its visits seem to be
after a successful hunt, as it usually appears to have a full crop, and
spends time preening and cleaning talons, etc. It's often there for several
hours.

i'm not entirely sure, but i *think* i was told the recent park peregrine is
a juvenile... maryfrances would know, having seen the photos of the earlier
visit, and excitedly letting me know he (or another very much like him) was
back yesterday...
