Subject: [Tweeters] RE Hand feeding GBHs Date: Dec 12 19:59:13 2004 From: Dawn Bailey - dawnsdog at rainierconnect.com
I was told a story this week from our boating safety instructor, his wife an avid birder and gardener watched a GBH eating small fish out of a net box that had been hauled up to a dock in Tacoma. The GBH was enjoying his fish when a small harbor seal noticed and took up calling for fish from the bird, opening his mouth and causing everyone to watch the two. The small seal kept up the racket coming out of the water as much as he could begging for food. Finally the GBH reached in the box and gave a fish to the seal.
