Yesterday morning I scoped a PACIFIC LOON out in Juanita Bay, viewable from
the west boardwalk at Juanita Bay Park. I watched for about a half hour as
it actively fed, and then gradually moved out into the main lake. Later in
the afternoon I tried to relocate it, with no success.
Common Loons are seen often during the winter, but the Red-throated that was
seen for most of November, and now this Pacific, are very unusual. And both
are new for JBP, bringing the total to 164 species.
