Winter solstice and two days without rain brought duels among Wild
Turkeys, Anna's Hummingbirds & raptors on the prowl. The Rock Doves
were hit by both Cooper's & Peregrines, making for high entertainment
with good pictures, and film, Black Bears are very active. Females,
cubs, and two large males active at dusk.. You can hear the Anna's high
pitched song on sunny afternoons, the feeders are busy with first year
and mature males. I can hear Varied Thrush, but haven't sighted them
yet. Many LBB, Towhees, Steller';s Jay families. Our usual Townsend
Warblers and Kinglets keep the creel by the pond a active scene. Winter
is alive and well in Ocean Park.

He who binds to himself a joy
Doth the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses joy as it flies
Lives in eternity?s sunrise.
