I headed up north for the first time since returning from New Zealand and found 72 species of birds including the following:

Big Ditch:
American Bittern (2)
Greater Yellowlegs (2)
BARN SWALLOW (4)
Northern Shrike (1)

Fir Island:
EARED GREBE (2 - Fir Island Farm/Hayton Reserve)
CATTLE EGRET (2 - Cowtown on Fir Island Road)
Mourning Dove (53 - Game Range)
Short-eared Owl (1 - Rawlin's Road)

Breazeale:
Barn Owl (1)

Samish Island area:
Wilson's Snipe (1 - flyover near the Skagit River crossing by the "East 90")
Short-eared Owl (6 - West 90)
Varied Thrush (2 - Samish Island)
