Tweets - a bit late on this report, but I left a bit early Wednesday morning
to fly to Denver, and had to check email before finding out what *else* was
seen on our walk.

It was a very nice day, eventually turning somewhat sunny, not too cold, not
too windy. Somewhat birdy, and definitely worth staying up late to pack so
I could bird before our flight. Seven of us were out; a good count
considering several people were already traveling for the holidays.

Highlights:

Cackling Goose 12 with CANGs on grass soccer fields - at least 1
Aleutian
Sharp-shinned Hawk Male by size, southwest of Dog Central - nice look
California Quail 4 doing their weird calls a bit east of the weir
R.-breasted Sapsucker 1 at Rowing Club
Northern Shrike Adult in East Meadow
Brown Creeper 1 near mansion
Lincoln's Sparrow 1 briefly seen at compost piles
Wh.-throated Sparrow Tan-stripe with GCSP near parkinglot early

Megan had 4 WESTERN MEADOWLARK in the dog area Wednesday afternoon, and a
staffperson at the park office had heard a GREAT HORNED OWL Wednesday
morning.

For the morning's walk, 53 species; for the day, 55 species. For the week,
including the ELWAS CBC, 58 species.
