I birded the Kent and Boeing Ponds for a total of eleven hours on Monday 12/27 and Tuesday 12/28 (freezing my hands and feet!) without finding the Baikal Teal. There were hundreds of ducks of over a dozen species, including three male Eurasian Wigeon. Raptors were also evident, including two Kestrel, an adult and immature Cooper's Hawk, adult and immature Bald Eagle, Harrier, Red-tailed Hawk, and an excellent Peregrine which provided up close views and lots of action as it hunted coot. Also interesting was a flock of six Yellow-rumped Warblers. Yesterday (Tuesday) at least five other birders also worked the ponds for much of the day looking for the Baikal Teal. As of 4:30pm on Tuesday, they all also had no luck.
