Hi Tweets

Michael Hobbs was still on vacation, so I substituted for him today. He didn't miss much - it was raining when we started at 7:45 and was still raining when we finished at 12:30. One out of town visitor joined me for the day, and he earns the "intrepid" award.

Highlights include:
White-throated Sparrow - tan stripe at the dog parking lot berry bushes
Anna's Hummingbird at the feeder at the park main office
Cackling Geese - about 10 with the main Canada Goose flock on the soccer fields
Cooper's Hawk on the top of a cottonwood tree east of the boardwalk
Ring-necked Duck pair at the Rowing Club pond
Wilson's Snipe at the Rowing Club pond
Northern Shrike yesterday in the east meadow

Major misses:
Brown Creeper
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Belted Kingfisher
Downy Woodpecker
Lincoln's Sparrow
Green Heron

Pretty slow day - many birds were undercover and just wouldn't come out.
