Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 5. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On February 3 an adult SLATY-BACKED GULL was seen among a huge gull flock
near Fenk Road west of Tillamook. The LUCY?S WARBLER is still being seen.

On January 30, 40 BARN SWALLOWS were over the Coquille Valley; 30 were on
the North Spit of Coos Bay the next day. On February 1 a BURROWING OWL and
the wintering GYRFALCON were seen on the Spit. An adult male TUFTED DUCK was
on Siltcoos Lake, south of Florence January 30. Three ROCK SANDPIPERS were
at Depoe Bay February 3. On January 30 seven EURASIAN WIGEON were seen among
a swarm of ducks at Tillamook. Eight KITTIWAKES were off Seaside February 4..
On January 31 a flock of eight WHITE-FRONTED GEESE was at the Astoria
Airport.

The SNOW GEESE and SANDHILL CRANES are conspicuous on Sauvie Island and
CANADA GEESE are now coming to the roadways. On January 31 six BARROW?S
GOLDENEYES were at the mouth of Eagle Creek near Bonneville Dam. A first
winter GLAUCOUS GULL was near McMinnville February 1. The GYRFALCON is still
being seen at baskett Slough NWR.

A TURKEY VULTURE was at Ankeny NWR February 3. On January 28 a flock of
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE was in Eugene. On February 1 a flock of 11 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS was at the Kirtland Road Sewage Ponds west of White City.

A WESTERN GULL was seen at the Redmond Sewage Ponds January 29. Two LAPLAND
LONGSPURS were at Powell Butte February 1. Six MCCOWN?S LONGSPURS and
several LAPLAND LONGSPURS were among a large HORNED LARK flock at Lower
Klamath NWR January 31. Forty TULE WHITE-FRONTED GEESE are now at Summer
Lake Wildlife Area.
