Good Morning Ian and all

The Washington Ornithological Society (WOS) went through a membership
decline up until about a year ago. Since then the membership has slowly
been building back up as we have gotten our publishing schedule back on
track. Successful conferences have also helped.

We are also getting our publication of Washington Birds back on track
and hope to have another issue our this year. WOS has set money for the
publication of Washington Birds aside so that funds will be there when
we are ready to publish new issues.

WOS would like to invite all of those birding friends, and tweeters, who
provide interesting and timely observations to the Washington birding
community and who are not currently members of WOS, to join us and help
make the organization even stronger. We have a monthly meeting,
currently held in Seattle at the Center for Urban Horticulture on the
first Monday of the month, and are exploring the possibility of
extending meetings to eastern Washington. Members receive our bimonthly
newsletter WOSNews, Washington Birds our journal, our Membership
Directory - to be updated later this month (members names are not sold
or released to anyone), and are eligible to go on field trips. We try to
have one to two trips a month - please contact Ken Knittle or Kraig
Kemper if interested in leading a trip by sending an e-mail to
FieldTrips at wos.org. In addition, we hold an annual conference that
alternates between eastern and western Washington. The conference is
held in locations, and at a time of year, that promise interesting
birding. Our conference this year will be held on June 4-6 in the
Pullman WA/Moscow ID area, and trips will fan out from there. Watch for
more details in WOSNews 90 and on our website (www.wos.org).

Looking forward to seeing you all at WOS.
