On January 28, Kathy Criddle had a NORTHERN SHRIKE at her home in
Richland. It snagged a House Finch from her feeder. On February 4, Bob
Woodley found a NORTHERN SHRIKE at the Yakima Delta and later that day,
Chris Simonen and Nancy LaFramboise saw possibly the same bird on Bateman
Island.

Mary Lilga reported a calling WESTERN SCREECH-OWL on the evening of
February 4, in the vicinity of Newcomer and Howell in Richland.

Bob Woodley and Craig and Judy Corder found 30 SNOW BUNTINGS on the south
side of Rattlesnake Mountain along Crooks Road. They also observed a
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at a feeder in Benton City.

On February 7, Denny Granstrand located 2 SNOW GEESE at McNary National
Wildlife Refuge. One was on the ponds at headquarters, and one was near
Hanson Loop Road.

On February 9, Bob Woodley observed a female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER near
Nelson Island at Groves Park in Richland.

Chris Simonen and Nancy LaFramboise found a HARRIS'S SPARROW at the Big
Flat Habitat Management Unit on the Snake River on February 9. On February
10, they found a BARN OWL and a CANYON WREN in the rimrock cliffs across
from Chandler Dam on the Old Inland Empire Highway in Benton City.
