Hello All,
This morning along with Michael Willison we relocated the Great Gray Owl near Bennington Lake. This spectacular bird is now missing three primaries on the right wing. Other than that it was in great shape. We watched as it aggressively took after the sub-adult female Northern Goshawk that has been present all week. The GGOW pushed the Goshawk off perch after perch until this big hawk vacated the area. We watched this very big owl for about 15 min.as it flew from one low perch to another until it lit about 60 ft. from us and watched us. We were at the pepsi can marker along the lower west side trail.
We also located 6 Long-eared Owls north of Dixie and 7 Bewicks Wrens. Low fog and damp cold all day.
